Why GYN Ultrasound is Important?

Gynecologic (GYN) ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive imaging test that uses sound waves to create detailed images of the female reproductive organs. It plays a vital role in diagnosing and monitoring a wide range of conditions that affect the uterus, ovaries, cervix, and pelvic structures.

What We Offer?

Our ultrasound services are tailored to meet a variety of gynecologic needs:

  • Pelvic Ultrasound — Evaluates the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, bladder, and surrounding structures.
  • Transvaginal Ultrasound — Provides detailed images of the uterus and ovaries for more precise diagnosis.
  • Evaluation of Abnormal Bleeding — Identifies causes of irregular or heavy periods.
  • Fibroid & Cyst Detection — Detects growths, cysts, or masses in the reproductive organs.
  • Infertility Evaluation — Assesses the uterine lining, ovaries, and follicle development.
  • Early Pregnancy & Ectopic Pregnancy Screening — Detects pregnancies within the uterus and screens for complications.
  • IUD Placement/Monitoring — Confirms correct positioning of intrauterine devices.

Who May Need a GYN Ultrasound?

You may be recommended a gynecologic ultrasound if you experience:

  • Pelvic pain or pressure
  • Abnormal or heavy menstrual bleeding
  • Irregular periods or absence of periods
  • Infertility concerns or difficulty conceiving
  • Suspected fibroids, cysts, or other pelvic masses
  • Postmenopausal bleeding
  • Monitoring of known gynecologic conditions
  • Routine follow-up after certain treatments or procedures

How Our Ultrasound Process Works?

At Triangle Women’s Center, we ensure your ultrasound experience is safe, comfortable, and respectful:

  • Consultation: Your provider discusses your symptoms, history, and the reason for the ultrasound.
  • Preparation Guidence: Depending on the type of ultrasound, you may be asked to drink water, empty your bladder, or prepare in another way.
  • Ultrasound Examination: The scan is performed using a transabdominal probe over your abdomen or a transvaginal probe for more detailed imaging.
  • Image Review: Our specialists capture images of your reproductive organs for detailed evaluation.
  • Result and Explanation: Results are interpreted and discussed with you in clear, understandable terms.
  • Next Steps: If needed, we recommend follow-up testing, treatment, or monitoring.

The process is designed to be simple, safe, and supportive with Dr. Nadendla, will review your health history and recommend screenings that may be appropriate for you.
